Jessica Corbin

Jessica Corbin is an active singer, pianist, conductor, vocal coach, and music director in and around New York City, who also occasionally composes and arranges music for herself and others to sing.

She has been a member of the C4 Ensemble: the Choral Composer/Conductor Collective in Manhattan, both as a soprano and conductor, and has just stepped down as Artistic Director and Conductor of BVS Women’s Choir
in Brooklyn, a community choir that she founded in 2000. Lately she’s been busy composing music – a relatively new, but exciting development in her musical career. In addition to playing and singing semi-regularly with indie songwriter John Rafferty, she maintains
an active vocal studio for music theatre and pop/rock clients in Manhattan and Brooklyn.

During the school year, she is a Lecturer at City University of New York Kingsborough Community College, in Music and Theatre, where she’s also the Music Director for all music theatre productions and activities.
In the recent past, she has also taught private voice lessons for music theatre at Marymount Manhattan College and Western Connecticut State University.

She is the current Chair of Music Theatre for Region 1 of the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival, which celebrates the work of college students in all aspects of theatre, and previously served the region
as an accompanist, vocal coach, and music director before becoming Vice Chair and then Chair of the music theatre area. She also does quite a bit of accompanying and singing all over the city too, subbing as needed for various theatre groups and churches.
