BTP II
Broadway Theatre Project II
Broadway Theatre Project II (BTP II) is a one-week, non-residential musical theatre training program held at the University of South Florida Fine Arts Complex in Tampa, Florida. BTP II is designed to provide exceptional training to students aged 12 to 15 who are serious about their musical theatre education, but do not meet the age requirement for our world renowned, residential summer institute (BTP). Applicants are not required to audition for BTPII.
BTP II OCCURS IN TWO ONE-WEEK SESSIONS:
Tuition is $450.00 per session or $800.00 for both
- Session 1 from July 8 – 12
- Session 2 from July 15 – 19
- Two-Week Session from July 8 – 19
A non-refundable deposit of $150.00 must be included with applications for either Session 1 or Session 2. For our combined two-week session, a non-refundable deposit of $200.00 must be included with the application.
Classes are focused on the key disciplines of musical theatre, including acting, dancing and singing and the many facets of each. Classes are held between the hours of 8:30 am and 5:00 pm daily Mondays through Fridays. In addition to working on technique in these areas, students work on choreography, much of it repertory pieces from Broadway shows taught by members of the experienced residential faculty to present at the end each program session.
The curriculum has been created with the intention of developing educational excellence, while helping to build a creative, collaborative spirited performer. Students are not required to perform at an advanced level in all disciplines, but should want to improve their skills in all key disciplines of musical theatre.
BTP II students work with Broadway Theatre Project faculty members, which means that they will be learning from the same high-caliber resident artists that teach the older students, as listed on the Broadway Theatre Project website. Students that have gone through our BTP II program and have reached the age of 16 will automatically be accepted into BTP without audition.
