The GENERAL OPERATING FUND
The general operating fund supports all of the programs and activities of BTP, including classes, festival performances and professional workshops. This fund helps to create a stable financial base from which BTP can continue its teaching excellence as well as thrive and expand artistically.
During the course of the three week summer session, students will attend classes with as many as 50 Guest Artists and faculty members. They will take 6 classes per day and attend both classes and rehearsals 7 days each week. The BTP curriculum includes more than 20 course offerings within the three musical theatre disciplines of dance, voice, and acting. Also included in the curriculum are panel discussions covering such areas as auditioning, college selection, and the “business” side of the arts. In 2009, Broadway Theatre Project will present the first annual BTP Festival at the conclusion of the July session. The Festival will run from July 30-August 1 and will include classes, panel discussions and 7 performances over the course of the weekend.
Broadway Theatre Project is committed to contributing to the creation of new musical works. In the past two years, BTP has produced initial work on: an original Christopher D’ Amboise performance piece; Keypin It Real, written by Kathy Lee Gifford and David Friedman; The Imagine Workshop, created by Terrence Mann and Christopher D’ Amboise and two Frank Wildhorn musicals, Havana and Wonderland.
As expenses increase, donations from those who value educating those who dream of becoming a professional musical theatre performer is the only way BTP can continue without increasing tuition. Contributing to the General Operating Fund will allow the continuation of this most respected musical theatre training program to continue its mission to provide educational excellence and mold a creative, collaborative, well-rounded, and professional, musical theatre arts performer.
