JOHN PARKS
Dance Faculty

 

John Parks is an alumnus of New York City’s High School of Performing Arts and the Juilliard School of Music. John Parks He was a member of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Jose Limon, Donald McKayle, Anna Sokolow, Louis Johnson and many other dance companies. Parks is currently a professor in the College of Theatre and Dance at the University of South Florida.

 

He has appeared in the Broadway and film productions of The Wiz, as well as the films Rage in Harlem and Spike Lee’s Malcolm X. Since Mr. Parks’ relocation to Florida in 1989, his summers have been devoted to choreographing and teaching for summer festivals and workshops. He taught and choreographed for the National Ballet Co. of Zimbabwe and Harvard Dance as well as the Universidad Nacional in Costa Rica.
