Gianna Palminteri

Visiting Artist

Gianna Palminteri is thrilled to join BROADWAY THEATRE PROJECT 2018.

After attending Villanova University, Gianna started her career training with William Esper in New York City where she wrote and performed the one act play, “The Curse” for Off-Broadway. She also had the distinct honor to study with Broadway legend Bob Fosse and be mentored by screen writer/novelist Noel Behn.

After several years of daytime drama and hosting and writing the Travel Channel’s World of Travel, she began acting in primetime dramas Tattingers and Tribeca and in feature films such as Soulmates, A Bronx Tale, Hurlyburly, Faithful and the independent film Ghetto Dawg starring Drena DeNiro, (on which Gianna was also Executive Producer).

With the success of the Ghetto Dawg franchise, Gianna formed her own production company, MGRP Productions. Several of her more notable projects include The Obscure Brother, an award winning short film, which she produced and starred in; Balletomane, a feature film about a widower dealing with his ballerina daughter, which won a Student Academy Award; and TRACKS of COLOR, an award winning short film about a young graffiti artist in the South Bronx.

Currently, Gianna is in development with the project Baroque, written by Richard Vetere based on his novel of the same name. Baroque is the story the artist Caravaggio and his contemporaries in Italy as they struggled to change the church’s hold on the art world. Currently she is in pre-production with the feature film Safe, which will be directed by her husband Chazz Palminteri. Gianna is also co-producer of A Fish Story which was released in 2015. At the moment she is co-writer and producer of the feature film Dead Man’s Hand, which will begin principal photography in 2016.

As a writer, Gianna is writer/producer of several projects. She is the creator of the web series (which begins filming this summer) BadMommyz and is in negotiations for launching her own lifestyle show, At Home with GIANNA, as well as writing for her show business website blog HollywoodMom.

To Gianna, the most important project is being the producer of her family, also known as a mom. Growing up in a large Italian family, Gianna knows that family always comes first, and spends her time working with her husband Chazz and their two children Dante and Gabriella. Both are actors and performers in their own right; Dante can be seen starring in Sharknado 2 on SyFy and this season in Orange is the New Black. Gabriella can be seen in Blue Bloods on CBS and is featured on the newest Disney CD. Gianna spends time between her office and her studio in NY where she coaches her children and other young actors. It is her love of mentorship and a passion to protect and nurture the next generation of actors, dancers and performers that has lead Gianna to actively coach and guide young careers.

Gianna is an active member of The Creative Coalition, a non-for-profit organization combining Washington DC and Hollywood and their issues of art and education.

Together with her husband, actor/writer/director, Chazz Palminteri, who preparing to begin the Broadway opening of A Bronx Tale the Musical, they created The Child Reach Foundation, a charitable organization which leads the fight against Thalassemia and other fatal childhood blood disorders. Their work with the Cooley’s Anemia Foundation over the last five years has brought this small orphan disease into public eye creating a canvas for a cure. They also champion many children’s welfare issues such as homelessness and education through both The Child Reach Foundation and The Children’s Health Fund.

Gianna is proud to bring her experience as an actor, writer and producer to the students of BROADWAY THEATRE PROJECT to help teach and prepare them for a career in show business and to get them started as working professionals.
