Why Attend BTP?

BECAUSE Playbill called us “the world’s most prestigious musical theatre arts education program for high school and college students.”

BECAUSE we are the original and, after more than 20 years, still one of the most renowned summer training intensives for high school and college students who wish to further their education within all disciplines of musical theatre.

BECAUSE we come to you at select high schools, performing arts high schools, community arts centers, and major colleges across the country to provide half-day Master Classes coupled with auditions and informational sessions. Some of the universities BTP has visited in the past include Boston Conservatory, Carnegie Mellon University, Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, Texas State University, and University of Northern Colorado, among many others.

BECAUSE we pride ourselves in featuring world-class artists and teachers who join us from venues across the country and from a variety of settings, including stage, screen, and academia, to form the BTP Faculty.

BECAUSE our guest artists arrive from stages all over the world – either performing in front of audiences, working behind the scenes, or both.

BECAUSE we provide a diverse range of classes that all of our apprentices (students) are required to take, so that everyone is guaranteed complete immersion in all aspects of dance, acting, and voice.

BECAUSE we prepare you for a life in the theatre, because knowledge of the business and the acquisition of survival skills are essential for longevity. This includes learning the auditioning process, resume preparation, touring, and writing, among other subjects.

BECAUSE our alumni have performed extensively in Broadway houses and on national tours, motion pictures, television and other media.
