Broadway Theatre Project is proud to welcome legendary tap dancer Jason Samuels Smith as a Visiting Artist to our Summer Institute.
Jason has emerged as a multi-talented leader in the art form of Tap. Over the course of his extensive travels, he has influenced, and at times, introduced the culture of tap dance to audiences of all ages and social economic backgrounds.
Gianna Palminteri is thrilled to return to BTP as Artistic Advisor and to join the teaching staff as Acting and Performance Coach With her experience in acting, producing, music & acting management and mentoring, Gianna will bring her special brand of coaching to each student and teach them their strengths while looking at the whole artist and guiding them into the right direction.
Gianna Palminteri made it possible for Broadway Theatre Project apprentices to experience firsthand what it is like to be a performing part of New York’s musical theatrical landscape. In January, 25 BTP apprentices took Feinstein’s/Studio 54 by storm in this buzzing place for Broadway’s greats to perform after shows and some between shows!
BTP is offering a free ticket to any student who pays the entire tuition by February 10 to the Broadway musical A BRONX TALE, written by Academy Award nominee Chazz Palminteri, directed by Robert De Niro and Jerry Zaks, with choreography by Sergio Trujillo and music by Alan Menken.
A BRONX TALE’s Chazz Palminteri, Academy Award nominee, returns to BTP as Artistic Advisor and will also serve as Advisor to the Acting Department!
Palminteri grew up in a tough area of the Bronx and it gave young Calogero (Palminteri’s given first name) the life lessons that would later prove very useful to his career. He started out pursuing his craft in studying at the Actor’s Studio with Lee Strasberg. He appeared off-Broadway in the early 1980s while paying his dues as a singer in his own band.
